Business Development Manager

Manchester / London

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Business Development Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will contribute to a sustainable business development strategy and manage a sales plan to successfully achieve annual growth targets and conversions of new business opportunities.

As Business Development Manager, your role fundamentally covers the following activities:

  • Maximise ticket sales through the development of new business opportunities with a specific focus on identifying & securing new external venue, promoter and managed service ticketing contracts, in line with annual growth targets, developing a solid sales plan.
  • Build good working relationships with existing clients and explore new or enhanced opportunities with existing accounts to maximise new business.
  • Input into the sales & marketing strategies of Ticketline and ensure alignment with the continued growth of inventory and client expectations.


  • Monitor and report on KPIs based on making high quality, qualified appointments based on the sales plan, sourcing new leads for cold calling, researching and following up, negotiating and closing deals through prospect/client presentations and meetings, providing timely and detailed hand-over to the operational teams.
  • Support the formulation and implementation of pricing strategies and costing models to maximise profitability and respond to RFPs (Requests for Proposals) for ticketing services.
  • Produce Management Reports on KPIs, sales plans and sales forecasting with appropriate commentary and recommendations & communicate weekly/monthly with the senior management team.
  • Ensure price governance is maintained at all times, demonstrating an understanding and knowledge of customer requirements & ticketing technology, present and future.
  • Track and report on industry trends and competitors.


  • Proven Business to Business (B2B) sales experience (minimum 3 years). Previous experience within the events or entertainment industry is desired, but not essential.
  • Ambitious, self-motivated with an established track record of successfully winning new business and building relationships with clients.
  • Skilled in identifying new markets and opportunities to generate new leads and an understanding of the full sales lifecycle.
  • Strong, assertive relationship builder with good facilitation and influencing skills.
  • Commercial flair with sound financial analysis.
  • Must be able to understand and develop business development plans that can deliver against a sales target.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projects.
  • Experience in the production of tenders, sales presentations and presenting to senior management.

Account Manager

Based in Manchester

Hours of Work – 37.5 hours per week, within working hours of 08:00 and 18:00 – specific hours to be agreed, to include some weekend work.

This is an excellent opportunity to join Ticketline, a company that specialises in the provision of Ticketing Solutions to various segments of the entertainment and sporting sectors.

This role will report to the Operations Manager and is part of the public face of the Company.

Main tasks will include – setting up events on Ticketline’s bespoke Ticketing System (Ticketware), reporting sales figures to promoters and venues, balancing (closing off) shows, returning any unsold tickets to promoters/venues with all relevant sales and customer reports, and look to identify new business opportunities.

Job Specification – Main Duties:

  • Develop an excellent working knowledge of Ticketware, Ticketline’s Event Management solution. To undertake work as required in all areas of the system, from seating map building, to ticket sales and financial reconciliation.
  • Provide ticketing solutions and support for promoters, venues and festivals. This support will take different forms during the life cycle of an event: From developing relationships with new clients, to providing ongoing maintenance and support and organising on-site box office staff, ticketing and scanning for existing clients.
  • Set up events on Ticketware, ensuring accuracy and visibility both internally and online, and print tickets for promoters/venues where required.
  • Close off events, and efficiently communicate information regarding sales figures and customer details to promoters and venues.
  • Produce sales reports and analytical data for clients, on a daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc basis.
  • Maintain excellent client relationships, promoting Ticketline services, developing and building relationships with new and existing clients. From these relationships, the Account Manager should look to identify opportunities for new and extended business.
  • Provide customer and staff training on the Ticketware software as required.
  • Be professional in approach and appearance.
  • Promote events using Ticketline’s various Social Media and marketing channels – working closely with our in-house marketing team.

Person Specification - Essential Criteria

  • Experience of working with Ticketing Systems – preferably in a venue or Primary Ticketing agent setting, particularly in regard to the setup and management of events/shows on a ticketing system.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of the Entertainment industry, and in particular the Primary Ticketing sector.
  • Experience of working effectively within a team environment but also the ability to adopt a proactive approach to work and to take initiative and to work independently where applicable.
  • The ability to build good working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to be systematic and well-organised in all aspects of the job.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to undertake further training and additional duties as required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Be able to work additional hours, including weekends or at short notice.

Junior Systems Administrator

Ticketline are looking for a Junior Systems Administrator to join our team. You will be responsible for the helpdesk system providing 1st and 2nd line support on a daily basis. You will also be involved in product testing and lots of interesting project work. You must be self motivated and have a desire to progress. During the summer months you must be able to work away at festivals and provide gate support with our gate entry system, therefore you must hold a driving licence.
